Greetings from Manchester, the city of beautiful nausea and home of The Vermont Sugar House.
The Vermont Sugar House are songwriters Martin King and David Platten and sometime collaborator Richard jones, all formerly of Manchester jangle pop kings, The Desert Wolves, plus a collective of creative and talented friends and acquaintances representing a return to the values of indie pop - a world away from the current Brits, sponsored by Mastercard, world of corporate musical tedium.
The Vermont Sugar House are pure pop for now and then people. Some have called it shoegazery indie - an eerie cross between Nick Heywood and the Bachelors, others cite Richard Hawley and Badly Drawn Boy.
Make up your own mind. A collection of songs will be issued in March 2008 on the fabulous Berlin-based Firestation Records.
Play it to the one who shares your chocolate cake.
